How to get good service

I admit.

I am a super naive person and always want to believe the best in every person.

But I have noticed something, working on many projects and coordinating different kinds of professionals and service providers.

No matter if you are a coffee cup salesman or business strategy consultant, it matters what values lie behind your service or business.

Let’s do a thinking experiment together.

Mary is a consultant and her value is freedom. She is working in a consulting firm but would rather have her own business. She is afraid she won't succeed and stays in the firm. She is selling her service to you because she thinks she has to.

Joseph works in the same firm. Joseph’s value is humbleness, he believes in authentically sharing his knowledge with others to help them grow.

Sofia is also working in the firm. Her value is power. She believes in networking her way up on the latter and spends more time on her sell calls than the actual service product, the consulting.

Who would you choose as your consultant?

All values are good, it is how we use them as our driving force that matters.

When a person does something that doesn't align with their values the result can be fine, even excellent. The problem is that it is not sustainable or long-lasting.

But how do you know if a service provider is a good match for you?

Listen to your intuition.

Your intuition is a mix of your previous knowledge and a subconscious mind.

Many experiments have been done on the subconscious mind that shows that we perceive things that we don't think about. The signals only reach our primitive brain parts and we feel it rather than think about them.

The mix of previous knowledge and a subconscious mind is a good mix that helps people save lives, build careers and choose the right direction in life.

So, next time you have a choice between different service providers.

  1. Stress less, when you stress you have a narrower view and miss many inputs.

  2. Know your values. So you know what you want.

  3. Listen to other signals than just fancy design and words. What does the person's body language tell you? What feeling do you get when listening to the person?

I promise your next choice of service will bring you long-lasting, better results!
